Le Golf National Albatros course is recognized as one of the best championship courses in Europe, having receive high praises from pros and amateurs alike.

Designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert Von Hagge, in collaboration with Pierre Thevenin, it is located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, southwest of central Paris. Debuting in 1990, Albatros has been the hosting venue for the French Open since 1991 - the oldest national open in continental Europe.

Slick greens, vast undulating fairways with innumerable links-style bunkers require golfers to use every club in the bag. The spectacular final 4 holes are surrounded by water hazards, making the Albatros one of the finest golf courses in Europe. Check out the course flyby:

Huzhou Hot Spring Golf Club is a challenging mountain course in the Yangtze River Delta.  The course features significant elevation changes, dramatic views, and a challenging layout for the more experienced golfers.  Huzhou Hot Springs features a cascading waterfall on the Par 3 second hole, and a two hundred-foot plunge from tee to fairway on the fourth hole.  The mountainous terrain makes for spectacular scenery and interesting approach shots.  The course was rated the #1 golf course in China.

Divots Spotlight on Kynzvart Golf Club

Each week we will highlight one of the famed courses from aboutGolf® available for you to experience at Divots Indoor Golf.  This week we highlight Kynzvart Golf Club:

Location:  Lazne Kynzvart, Czech Republic

Year Opened:  2010

Architect:  Christoph Stadler

Kynzvart Golf Club is on the Czech-Bavarian border, in a region devoted to harmony, peace and relaxation.  The club's history began in 2004 when the club was officially founded and began the construction of the course.  The golf course is situated in the beautiful setting of a historic Castle Park, in the English style, with the backdrop of a classical 1800's chateau.  The 18-hole golf resort was designed by the famous designer Christoph Stadler, who used the layout of the castle park, the surrounding countryside and the combination of traditional and modern elements to create a diverse and colorful playground.  the course is among the most beautiful and hardest in the Czech Republic.  The variety of tees satisfy both demanding professionals, amateur golf players, and recreational players.

Location:  La Romana, Dominican Republic

Pete Dye's signature course, the #1 course in the Caribbean, and the #39 ranked course in the world, Teeth of the Dog has a reputation that's well deserved.  Meticulously hand carved from the rugged rock and coral of the Dominican coastline, the hard-fought and challenging creation of Teeth of the Dog is an apt description for what playing a round can be like.  Make no mistakes, if you dare challenge the Dog it will bite back.  But your efforts will be rewarded with 18 jaw-droopingly-beautiful holes, including seven right along the ocean, and the satisfaction of knowing you've played one of the best courses in the world.  How many of your friends can say the same? 

In addition to the latest version,  Divots also offers the 2011 Archive Edition.  The archive edition allows you to play the course as it was in 2011, before many changes were made to keep pace with advances in golf equipment and athleticism.  Notable features include shorter length, more forgiving fairways, fewer bunkers and other hazards when compared to the present 2016 edition.  A major landmark, the local airstrip at Casa de Campo still divides hole 18 in this trip back in time.

Follow in the footsteps of legends.  As the home of golf, St. Andrews is the oldest and most iconic golf course in the world.  The Swilcan Bridge and Hell Bunker are recognized across the globe, yet the greatest feature of the Old Course is that despite its grand status it remains a public golf course, open to all.  The Open Campionship has been hosted at St. Andrews 29 times, more than any other course.  St. Andrews was also the first course to host the Open Championship on an 18-hole course, instead of three rounds of 12 holes, there were two rounds of 18.

In addition to the latest version,  Divots also offers the 2011 Archive Edition.  The archive edition allows you to play the course as it was in 2011, before many changes were made to keep pace with advances in golf equipment and athleticism.  Notable features include more forgiving greens and bunkers compared to the present 2016 edition of The Old Course.  Enjoy your trip back in time!

Divots Spotlight on PGA Centenary at Gleneagles

Each week we will highlight one of the famed courses from aboutGolf® available for you to experience at Divots Indoor Golf.  This week we highlight PGA Centenary at Gleneagles. This is one of the newer courses this season at Divots:

Even for a champion and acclaimed golf architect like Nicklaus, the PGA Centenary Course was a challenge.  It had to be a great golf course and, set as it is in the heart of Scotland, the country that gave the world golf, Nicklaus described the course as "The finest parcel of land in the word I have ever been given to work with".  It has to be unique in its challenge, a golf course in the modern design ethos that at its fullest stretch tests the greatest players, while in the immortal phrase of Bobby Jones, "offering problems a man may attempt according to his ability...never hopeless for the lesser player nor failing to concern and interest the expert". 

The PGA Centenary Course will host the 2019 Solheim Cup.  As well, it was host venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Divots Spotlight on TPC Sawgrass

Home of THE PLAYERS Championship, birthplace of the TPC (Tournament Players Club) Network, and backdrop to the PGA TOUR headquarters, the TPC Sawgrass golf course is perhaps the world's most famous golf course. 

The course sports one of the most recognizable and challenging holes on the PGA TOUR, the notorious par-3, 17th hole.  It features an island green that makes or breaks many a PGA TOUR pro's round.  TPC Sawgrass was built to challenge the pros like no other golf course had done before, while providing an unprecedented experience for spectators at the same time.

Divots Spotlight on Hazeltine National Golf Club

Each week we will highlight one of the famed courses from aboutGolf® available for you to experience at Divots Indoor Golf.  This week we highlight Hazeltine National Golf Club.  This is one of the newer courses this season at Divots:

Location:  Chaska, Minnesota USA

Year Opened:  1962

Course Record:  66

Architect:  Robert Trent Jones

Architect Robert Trent Jones took the landscape and put a premium on shot values that makes low scores rare.  His son Rees Jones used the routing and modified the course to test the best players of today.  If you are out of position at Hazeltine, you will likely find yourself hitting over something.  At times it is a natural feature of the land, and at times it is one of the many strategically-placed bunkers that closely guard the greens.  Hazeltine is all about golf.  This is the course that defines the club, as great a test as you will find. 

Hazeltine was also the host venue for the 2016 Ryder Cup.  At Divots, we also offer the Ryder Cup Edition.  You are in for a treat and a challenge as you play through this special edition.  The course features the Ryder Cup configuration of play where holes 5-9 have traded places with holes 14-18.  Be inspired by the vibrant fall colors and hit from the longer championship tees if you feel up to the challenge!

Location:  Cranbrook, British Columbia, CA

Set on the rolling highlands above the City of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Wildstone exposes postcard views of the Canadian Rockies from start to finish.  With five Par 5's, five Par 3's and eight Par 4's the course offers a stunning variety of options and holes that are memorable, scenic, fair but challenging.  The attention to detail is obvious as you navigate your way through the course and play the variety of shots that the course demands.  The subtle shaping, dramatic bunkering, unique collection areas and undulating greens are some of the highlights that make Wildstone a very enjoyable experience.
